MU President at the Egyptian Family Iftar Banquet with President El-Sisi

Prof. Dr. Essam Farahat, Minia University President, participated in the Egyptian Family Iftar ceremony, in the presence and honor of His Excellency President Abd EL-Fatah El-Sisi.

The Egyptian Family Iftar ceremony was attended by Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly, His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ministers, and Universities’ Presidents. The Iftar ceremony witnessed wide turnout of politicians, senior statesmen, media figures, societal icons, Egyptian tribal leaders, a number of martyrs’ families, and various segments of society.

Prof. Dr. Farahat expressed his deep gratitude to participate in this event as His Excellency President El-Sisi is keen to hold this gathering annually, the matter that reflects our traditions in Ramadan. He also appreciated the positive participation of the various segments of society in the Iftar ceremony, asking Allah to preserve Egypt's national security, stability and support our leadership to achieve the comprehensive development.

During the ceremony, President El-Sisi gave a speech and assured that we strive for Egypt to be at the forefront of nations and the will of the Egyptians has prevailed and their legitimate aspirations have been realized in building a democratic state, based on knowledge and work, striving towards peace and development.

Furthermore, he confirmed continuing to implement economic reform measures based on the localization of industry, expansion of the agricultural area, increase of foreign direct investments, and support for the private sector, while providing the necessary social protection measures for the most vulnerable classes.

On the other hand, he stressing supporting the state of openness and political reform, while continuing to support the youth and empower women, at all levels: political, economic, and societal.

Moreover, he added that placing the issue of building the Egyptian person at the top of the priorities of national action, including providing the decent life necessary for him and means of quality of life in general by offering good education, decent health services, and decent housing, pointing out that Egypt will remain honorable and proud, a strong nation that accommodates all Egyptians.
