Minia University Hospitals Receive 15,000 Cases during the Eid Al-Adha Holiday

Prof. Dr. Essam El-Deen Sadiq Farahat, Minia University President, stated that the university hospitals maintained full operational capacity during the Eid al-Adha holiday, effectively serving patients and supporting the healthcare system in Minia Governorate. This was achieved through a comprehensive plan that ensured readiness for emergency and critical cases, providing round-the-clock medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in line with state directives for healthcare during holidays.

Prof. Dr. Farahat noted that operational indicators showed high efficiency, with Minia University hospitals receiving 15,000 cases during the holiday, including reception, emergency services, surgeries, intensive care, internal departments, radiology, and medical analyses. This demonstrates the medical system's capability to manage various medical and emergency cases efficiently and swiftly.
He pointed out that the general reception and emergency departments handled 8,745 cases, performed 255 emergency surgeries, admitted 100 patients to intensive care, and received 151 patients in internal departments. During the holiday days, 2,148 radiological examinations and 3,327 medical analyses were conducted, highlighting the activity at the university hospitals.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Ayman Hassanein, Vice President for Community Service and Development Affairs in addition to Executive Director of University Hospitals, emphasized that the hospitals provided continuous specialized medical services throughout the holiday. They conducted 668 emergency and routine dialysis sessions, two emergency cardiac catheterizations, nine gastrointestinal endoscopies, and 68 radiotherapy sessions using a three-dimensional linear accelerator.
