During his visit, he was accompanied by university officials, including Prof. Dr. Ayman Hassanein, Prof. Dr. Hossam Shawky, Prof. Dr. Ehab Refaat, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mostafa; Dr. Farahat reviewed several key areas within the hospital.
He checked the progress on the first floor, which has modern medical labs and outside chemotherapy units, and the ground floor, where outpatient clinics and a nuclear medicine unit are almost finished, improving cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Farahat highlighted that the oncology hospital is one of the largest cancer treatment facilities in Upper Egypt, representing a significant improvement in regional healthcare services. He reiterated the university's commitment to prioritize the medical sector by providing state-of-the-art therapeutic services to alleviate patient burdens and reduce the need for travel outside the governorate.
Therefore, he stressed the need to accelerate work rates and finish all remaining construction works within three weeks, asserting that the hospital's full operation will enhance the healthcare system in Minia Governorate and Upper Egypt, delivering quality medical services to Egyptian citizens.
He noted the radiotherapy unit's inauguration in August of the previous year as a critical step toward the project's completion, having already treated over 20,000 patients with advanced radiotherapy equipment.
