MU President Meets with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt Healthcare Authority

Prof. Dr. Essam Farahat, Minia University President, received in the morning Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt Healthcare Authority, and the accompanying delegation to follow up on the university’s readiness for implementation of Universal Healthcare Insurance System.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman Hasaneen, Vice President for Community Service & Environment Affairs and the CEO of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Hossam Shawky, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the board of Directors of University Hospitals.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Farahat reviewed the capabilities of university hospitals and the future plans for constructions and equipment, with the ongoing completion of integrating the remaining specialized hospitals to achieve the state's vision of providing comprehensive and sustainable health care for all citizens.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stressed that the new phase will witness promoting for the university hospitals role, given their advanced infrastructure, human cadres, and medical equipment, emphasizing the importance of their role in serving Minia Governorate, that its population exceeds 7 million.
On his part, Dr. Essam Farahat pointed out that Minia University set out a long-term plan to raise the capacity of university hospitals to 4,000 beds, in addition to a short-term plan to increase the number of beds to 3,000 within just two years, in line with the needs of the governorate and to achieve the goals of the system.
