MU President Mourns the loss of Former University President Prof. Dr. Gamal Abu Al-Makarem
Prof. Dr. Essam El-Deen Sadeq Farahat, Minia University President, academic staff, and employees mourn the loss of Prof. Dr. Gamal Abu Al-Makarem, Emeritus Professor of Faculty of Agriculture and the Former President of Minia University, who passed away this morning.
Prof. Dr. Gamal Abu Al-Makarem held several prominent positions, including the dean of Faculty of Agriculture from 1981 to 1985, then served as the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research from 1985 to 1991, then appointed as the President of Minia University from 1991 to 1999.
During his tenure, the university witnessed notable achievements in all structural, scientific, and research fields, reflecting the effort and high-level thinking he invested. Additionally, his humanitarian and charitable stances are widely recognized by all.
Minia University extends its sincere condolences to his family. May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant his family and loved ones patience and comfort.
